Dearly Departed

Directed by Teresa Ragland
Produced by Camille Jones

In the backwoods of the Deep South, the beleaguered Turpin family find that living and dying in the South are seldom tidy, but always hysterical! Despite their earnest efforts to pull themselves together for their father's funeral, the Turpin's other problems keep overshadowing the solemn occasion: As funeral bills mount, firstborn Ray-Bud drinks himself into a stupor; Junior, the younger son, while juggling financial ruin, and a gaggle of devil-children, has a wife who suspects him of infidelity in the family car; their spinster sister, Delightful, copes with life and death matters the only way she knows how - eating junk food. Amidst the chaos, the Turpins turn for comfort to their friends and neighbors, an eccentric group, who somehow manage to pull together, and help each other through their hours of need, and ultimately, the funeral.
